Crossroads Charter Schools’ model for achievement is that every student spends every minute of the day with an outstanding teacher, studying a rigorous curriculum in a creative and focused environment. Highly qualified, urban experienced teachers have established the expectations, structure and environment necessary for truly exceptional learning.
Our Project Based Learning curriculum is aligned to the Missouri Learning Standards and encompasses Expeditionary Learning, Readers and Writers Workshop and Blended Learning. When you walk into a Crossroads Academy – Quality Hill classroom you will observe students interacting with adaptive platforms, teachers working with small groups, students collaborating, and students working independently. Our classrooms use the co-teaching model which consists of multiple teachers planning and teaching the same group of students. This allows teachers to bounce ideas off each other, get feedback on their teaching, rotate teaching small groups of students, and collaborate on analyzing student growth and necessary interventions. Co-teaching allows students to hear information from multiple sources and in a variety of ways. Students have many avenues to practice skills and concepts at their own pace.
Students spend more time than a traditional school through our extended school calendar. Additionally, our students participate in at least six learning expeditions throughout the year where they experience learning in the community.
